Regular Cleanings

As part of your routine examination, your dental hygienist will thoroughly deep clean your teeth to remove all built up tartar and plaque. This is an important part of maintaining a healthy mouth and as this cleaning is able to remove what brushing and flossing cannot.

Your hygienist will also floss between your teeth and polish the surfaces, giving you a clean and fresh smile!

Oral Exams

Regular examinations at your dental office give your dentist the opportunity to identify any dental health issues, such as cavities or gum disease, and develop a treatment plan.

During your dental exam, your dentist will carefully inspect your teeth, gums and bite for any signs of problems.

Exams may also include dental x-rays and other diagnostic procedures as needed.

Dental Prevention Starts at Home

Maintaining proper oral hygiene habits between dental visits is essential and includes brushing twice a day and daily flossing, ideally before going to bed at night. You should also try to rinse your mouth with water after each meal if you're unable to brush. Your dentist or hygienist can give you tips on the best ways to care for your teeth at home.

Dental X-Rays

We take a series of full-mouth x-rays of your teeth and jaw as part of your examination.

With close inspection of the images, your dentist may be able to identify potential issues, such as abscesses, tumours, and other developing abnormalities that are not visible to the eye.

Fluoride

Fluoride is a mineral that is naturally found in your bones and teeth. At Tower Dental Clinic, we provide fluoride treatments as required for both children and adults to strengthen dental enamel, prevent cavities, and provide protection against future decay.

Oral Cancer Screening

During your regular checkups, your dentist may perform an oral cancer screening. This screening involves the close examination of your tongue, throat, tissues, gums, face, neck, and lips for any visual signs of developing cancer.
